Biography

Eric has been performing professionally since 1990 through multiple genres including Classical, Jazz, Hard Rock, Blues, R&B soul/funk, and Top-40 pop. He began studying classical piano at age 6 and jazz piano at 16. Eric was a music education major at Temple University before leaving prior to his Junior year to become a full-time professional musician. Over the course of his music career, Eric became interested in the technology behind modern electrical instruments and returned to college graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.

Current Projects

Since 2005, Eric has been performing under BVT Live (formerly Brandywine Valley Talent) as a keyboardist for their Party, Dance, and Wedding Bands including The Sid Miller Orchestra, Deja Groove, Back2Life, Contagious, Dynamic Ground, and Big Ric Rising. Eric has performed at hundreds of weddings and special events including ceremonies, cocktail hours, receptions and corporate events.

Since 2009, Eric has been recording and producing original compositions, soundtracks for film, and keyboard tracks for other recording artists.

Since 2018, Eric became the keyboardist for Spencer & The Elegant Blackouts (www.elegantblackouts.com) which is a straight-ahead rock'n'roll band. Eric and Spencer played together in The Dogtown Balladeers, and decided to record again after reminiscing over the music they had made some years before.

Past & Side Projects

From 1991-1994 Eric was the keyboardist for The Dogtown Balladeers (previously known as Scarlet Fever). They enjoyed success releasing 2 EP’s and one studio album which was produced by Hanoi Rocks bassist Sami Yaffa. It was in this band that Eric developed his style as a blues/honky tonk keyboardist and learned that a passenger van can provide comfortable sleeping for five band members.

In 1993, Eric recorded piano on The Character’s self titled debut album which was produced by Candy/The Electric Angels bassist Jonathan Daniel. The Characters were on Joan Jett’s label, Blackhearts Records and featured Joan Jett as a guest vocalist.

From 1995 - 2000, Eric was the keyboardist and co-producer of The Fantastic Voyage 70's All Star Show, which toured during the disco revival years of the mid-to-late 90’s and co-headlined with 70's stars such as KC & The Sunshine Band, Village People, Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, The Temptations, Vicki Sue Robinson and more. During this time, Eric developed his ear to transcribe horn and string lines buried in the mix of old, warped cassette tapes and perfected his ambidextrous ability to perform them live on separate keyboards. Eric also learned what it took to produce a show, work with major music stars, and give musical direction to a band of 11 people.

From 2012-2015, Eric was the keyboardist for The Hyde, a band with strong influences of late 60's and early 70's album rock. The Hyde has over 30 recorded songs and has played festivals along the East Coast opening for bands such as Rusted Root, Three Doors Down and others. The Hyde's discography is available on Apple Music.

In 2014, Eric recorded keyboards and synthesizers on Zindaji’s debut album, In Situ. For over a month after its release, it was listed at #1 on Amazon's Adult Alternative Hot New Releases.
